Rob Schrab, the twisted, amusing mind behind Dreamworks’ Monster House and the cult Jack Black TV pilot that never aired, , got his start writing and drawing Scud: The Disposable Assassin, a comic book about a self-destructing vending-machine robot assassin. After 15 years and 764 pages of art, he finally brought the series to a close a few weeks ago…and to celebrate, he’s holding a Scud fan film contest on his website.
Fans have until the end of July to post a link to their Scud fan film on his site; entries can be cartoons, CG, live action or whatever. First prize gets a signed hardcover Scud omnibus and three original Scud pages; Second prize is a signed softcover omnibus and a sketch. You can find out more info at Schrab’s site, and I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt to pick up your own copy of the omnibus in order to fully ‘get’ the character.
